Easiest backup copy of solution with external storage

Hiya, When working with FMS v12, I found that if I restored a solution that had images in external containers (open), that the links were ‘broken’ (unless going through the fiddle of renaming folders). To get a ‘good’ copy, I needed to download via the Admin Console. Ideally, the ‘complete’ copy would have been used as a local copy on an iPad but given the level of training that would have been required for some users, it was more practical to just avoid external containers.

Is there now a *really simple* way to get a complete backup copy for the purposes of loading on to an iPad (etc), and yet still be able to take advantage of the benefits of external containers? Note: users may have very poor network access so sometimes a local copy makes for better viewing.
